The National Quality Standard (NQS) is a key aspect of the NQF. The NQS consists of seven quality areas, each containing standards and elements, that children’s education and care services are assessed and rated against.

The seven quality areas covered by the National Quality Standard are:
  1. Educational program and practice
  2. Children’s health and safety
  3. Physical environment
  4. Staffing arrangements
  5. Relationships with children
  6. Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
  7. Leadership and service management

IMG_3042Policies are to be maintained and kept up to date by the Approved provider and Nominated Supervisor, sourcing when the new information was provided and from which Approved Authority or Childcare Support Agency (if any) the information was obtained.

Policies are ongoing and it is the commitment of the Approved Provider and Nominated Supervisor to inform all staff of new policies and changes to any policies.

Informing staff of policies and changes is achieved through the ‘Educator/Staff   New and Updated Policies’ folder, where a copy of new or updated  policies are placed. Educators/Staff view the policy and then verify that the policy content has been read, by signing the ‘Staff Notification of New and Updated Centre Policies’ form and on this form Educators/Staff are also able to provide feedback.

Families at the Centre are kept up to date of new and changed Policies through either the newsletter or separate email and they can provide feedback through the ‘Policy Feedback ‘ which is attached.
